Azerbaijan, Pakistan explore new spheres for cooperation in diplomatic meeting
Charge d'Affaires of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Syria Elnur Shahhuseynov and Pakistan’s Charge d'Affaires in Syria Umer Hayat Khan have discussed the issues of mutual interest during a meeting in Pakistan.
The Azerbaijani embassy confirmed the meeting, which provided a platform for both diplomats to explore areas for enhancing bilateral cooperation, Caliber.Az reports.
While the details of the discussions were not fully disclosed, the focus was on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties, with both sides emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration.
The meeting highlights the growing diplomatic engagement between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, both of which have expressed a mutual commitment to fostering stronger ties in various sectors.
Notably, on February 24, Azerbaijan held an official welcome ceremony for Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who arrived for a state visit. During his visit, Sharif signed five key documents aimed at bolstering cooperation between the two nations. These agreements focus on areas including oil trade, the exchange of liquefied natural gas and oil products, as well as fostering closer ties between the cities of Nakhchivan and Lahore. Additionally, the visit saw the signing of agreements on customs cooperation, agriculture, ecology, and education — further cementing the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
