Azerbaijan prepares infrastructure, transportation restrictions Ahead of COP29
In anticipation of hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Azerbaijan is gearing up for significant infrastructure and transportation restrictions.
Farid Hajiyev, Chief of Staff of the Milli Majlis, underscored the necessity of these measures during a session of the Plenum of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
Hajiyev pointed out that the decision to implement these restrictions was aligned with the recent resolution by the Milli Majlis appealing to the President to dissolve Parliament and call for snap elections.
These steps are essential to ensure the smooth operation and security of COP29, which is slated to be a pivotal global event in the realm of climate diplomacy.
The restrictions are expected to encompass various aspects of public life, including transportation routes, public access to certain areas, and heightened security protocols.
