Speaker: Azerbaijan's solidarity with Georgia mirrors relationship built on action, not words PHOTO
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has said that Georgia always felt the support of Azerbaijan, particularly in the issues of protecting the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Papuashvili made these remarks during a meeting with the Azerbaijani parliament’s delegation that visited Tbilisi, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"Some countries express their support in words, but Azerbaijan demonstrates it through actions. We are grateful to the president of Azerbaijan, the parliament, and the friendly Azerbaijani people," he noted.
He added that the relationship between the two countries has reached the level of strategic partnership, which opens up new opportunities for further cooperation, including those at the parliamentary level.
The Azerbaijani delegation also held talks with the chairs of committees in the Georgian parliament and members of the friendship group.
Earlier, Georgian Justice Minister Anri Okhanashvili and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev discussed the process of strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The discussions highlighted the effective cooperation between the relevant agencies in the field of justice.
Advisor to Georgia's Justice Ministry Levan Kasradze, advisor to Azerbaijan's Ambassador Samir Abdurahimov, and Embassy Attache Royal Pashayev attended the meeting. The sides agreed on further plans for collaboration.
