Azerbaijan sends second batch of humanitarian aid to Ukraine
In response to Ukraine's appeals and in order to restore a stable energy supply on this country's territory, Azerbaijan has delivered a second batch of humanitarian aid, consisting of energy equipment.
The humanitarian aid includes 45 transformers and 50 generators, Azertag reports.
The first batch of humanitarian aid was sent on December 17. The amount of aid is about 1,422 million manats [$836,499], and the total amount of humanitarian aid provided by Azerbaijan in connection with the crisis in Ukraine has already reached about 30 million manats [$17.6 million].
Ukraine's Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko in this regard noted: "I would like to personally express my gratitude to my colleague, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov for the prompt response and effective, timely support. We are grateful for your solidarity with the people of Ukraine."
It should be noted that over the past six months, Azerbaijan's various structures have also provided humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people. So, in total, about 90 Ukrainian children who suffered from the war and lost family members were brought to our country for medical and socio-psychological rehabilitation. School No 12 named after Zarifa Aliyeva, which was destroyed as a result of military operations in the city of Irpen, was completely restored and various humanitarian events were held there.
