Azerbaijan, Spain explore closer parliamentary collaboration during key meeting PHOTO

Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova, has held a key meeting with President of the Spanish Senate, Pedro Rollán, during her official visit to Spain, emphasising the importance of strengthening parliamentary cooperation and the value of mutual visits by parliamentary delegations.

Rollán extended a warm welcome to Gafarova and expressed a strong interest in further advancing the bilateral relationship between Azerbaijan and Spain, Caliber.Az reports via local media. 

He emphasised the Spanish Senate’s commitment to strengthening inter-parliamentary relations and supporting closer cooperation between the governments of the two nations. 

Rollán also praised Azerbaijan’s economic growth, particularly highlighting the role of Spanish companies operating in Azerbaijan, especially within the transportation sector. He further noted the growing importance of Azerbaijan-Spain collaboration in the energy sector, which holds particular significance in Spain.

In return, Gafarova acknowledged the successful and evolving partnership between Azerbaijan and Spain. She highlighted economic cooperation and political ties as key areas of growth, noting the significant potential for expanding collaboration in several sectors. Furthermore, the sides explored ways to improve cooperation between their respective parliamentary committees.
