Azerbaijan spent over $6 billion on restoration of liberated lands, minister says
Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov has said that 11 billion manats have been spent on the restoration of the liberated territories so far.
“At this stage, which has entered the history of our country as a period of comprehensive progress, thanks to the determination of President Ilham Aliyev, the foundations of Azerbaijan's statehood have been further strengthened,” APA quotes Sharifov as saying at a meeting in the country’s parliament when discussing the draft law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2024".
The minister noted that at this stage, Azerbaijan’s oil and gas resources are being effectively used.
"Azerbaijan has been actively continuing construction work in the liberated territories for 3 years. In addition to the funds allocated from the state budget for 3 years, additional revenues are also allocated for construction work. To date, 11 billion manats [$6.47 billion] have been spent on the restoration of the liberated territories, it is expected that these funds will reach 12 billion manats [$7.05 billion] by the end of this year,” the minister added.
“The reintegration of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur into the country's economy will be a top priority in the coming years," he added.
