Aztelecom expands telecommunications infrastructure in Karabakh, East Zangezur regions
Aztelecom LLC, a subsidiary of AZCON Holding, has made significant strides in improving communications and internet services in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions of Azerbaijan, as part of the country's "Great Return" state programme.
Aztelecom has successfully implemented a series of projects aimed at enhancing telecommunications in the areas liberated from occupation. Over the past year, the company has connected numerous settlements to modern telecommunications networks, with notable progress in both urban and rural areas, Caliber.Az reports via Azertag.
The company established communications infrastructure in 9 cities and 27 villages, serving a total of 4,308 new subscribers, including households and businesses.
High-speed, stable internet connectivity has been made available through the installation of 25 Optical Line Terminals (OLT) using GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) technology. This infrastructure is expected to improve internet services in the region significantly.
As part of the ongoing development, Aztelecom has completed the construction of 25 trunk lines as part of the Karabakh region's long-term project. Additionally, the company has established a fibre-optic backbone network that spans nearly 1,000 kilometres, ensuring both the stability and security of the telecommunications infrastructure in the region.
Aztelecom has stated that it will continue its efforts to expand telecommunications services in the region, with plans for further development in the coming years to build a sustainable and modern network for the local population.
