Azerbaijan, Türkiye hold military talks on WMD defence PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Türkiye have held high-level military talks in Baku focused on strengthening cooperation in protection against weapons of mass destruction and monitoring global security trends in the field.
Lieutenant General Azer Aliyev said he was pleased to welcome the Turkish delegation, stressing that relations between the two countries, “rooted in brotherhood and friendship”, have developed rapidly in recent years and now stand at the level of a strategic partnership, particularly in the military sphere, Caliber.Az reports via Defence Ministry.
According to officials, the discussions highlighted the importance of reciprocal visits in supporting the continuous assessment of radiological, chemical and biological defence capabilities.
Both sides underlined the need to take into account evolving global and regional security dynamics in order to maintain the operational readiness of their armed forces.
The meeting also reviewed ongoing cooperation in military, military-technical and related fields.
Delegations exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest, including further steps to enhance coordination and capability development.
