Azerbaijan unveils number of body remains exhumed in liberated lands OFFICIAL/PHOTO
Employees of the Military Prosecutor's Office, together with representatives of the State Security Service, the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons as well as the International Committee of the Red Cross have discovered mass graves in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from many years of Armenian occupation.
These territories include Dashalti village near the city of Shusha, the villages of Edilli of Khojavand and Sirkhavand of Aghdam Districts as well as the village of Farrukh of Khojaly District of Azerbaijan and other territories.
More than 450 remains of bodies have already been exhumed, which, presumably, belong to Azerbaijani citizens missing during the First Karabakh War, Caliber.Az was informed in the press service of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
A forensic medical examination has already been carried out for about 300 of them and a genetic and molecular examination carried out for more than 280. In addition, witnesses have been questioned, and other investigative measures have been taken.
The military prosecutor of Azerbaijan, Khanlar Valiyev, visited the territories where mass graves were found, and inquired about the progress of the investigation on the spot, gave his recommendations and instructions.
