Azerbaijan unveils Türktransplant initiative at OTS Health Ministers summit in Shusha
At the 4th meeting of Health Ministers from member and observer countries of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) held in Shusha, Azerbaijani Health Minister Teymur Musayev announced the imminent signing of a Protocol of Intentions to establish the Türktransplant system.
Musayev emphasized the robust and dynamically evolving relationships among OTS member nations, noting that this foundation facilitates high-level cooperation in healthcare, Caliber.Az reports.
“In April this year, a Memorandum of Understanding regarding healthcare and medical science was signed during the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Azerbaijan,” he remarked.
The minister highlighted the significance of today’s signing of bilateral documents, which he believes will strengthen collaborative efforts in healthcare and pave the way for future initiatives. He outlined key objectives for OTS cooperation, including the creation of a Common Medical Scientific Space, joint research endeavours, and the establishment of standardized medical education.
Furthermore, Musayev addressed the rapid integration of information and communication technologies in healthcare, stating that these advancements enable cross-border exchange of patient data and the development of unified e-health standards within the organization.
“There are many opportunities in this direction, which should be implemented together,” he concluded.
