Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan set up joint expert council in Baku
Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have inaugurated a new expert council in Baku aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation and dialogue.
The establishment of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Expert Council was announced following a conference titled “Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan: New prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation" co-organized by the Centre for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) and the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The conference, which saw participation from key figures including Bakhtiyor Mustafayev, Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies, Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Air Center, and Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, focused on a range of critical topics. Discussions centered on the potential for collaboration in alternative energy, specifically the creation of a “green energy” corridor connecting Central Asia, Azerbaijan, and Europe.
Panel sessions explored several significant issues, including the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan as a catalyst for regional development, the current state and future prospects of trade and economic interaction, and the advancement of transport and logistics cooperation under new geopolitical conditions.
The establishment of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Expert Council emerged as a key outcome of the conference, reflecting both countries' commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership and expanding collaborative efforts across various sectors.
