The lineup of speakers will include Ministers of Energy from OPEC and OPEC+ member countries, senior officials from OPEC, representatives from international energy organisations, and European Union energy policymakers. The lineup also features Secretaries General of global energy forums, CEOs of major international oil and gas companies, executives from leading energy firms and national oil companies, as well as high-ranking representatives of energy infrastructure corporations and investment entities.
It is relevant to note that the OPEC International Seminar is one of the most significant global platforms for high-level dialogue on the energy sector, bringing together ministers, industry leaders, policymakers, and experts from around the world. Arranged by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the seminar is held every few years in Vienna, Austria, the headquarters of OPEC.
The event serves as a forum for discussing key issues affecting the global oil and energy markets, including supply and demand dynamics, the energy transition, investment trends, and geopolitical influences. The 9th edition of the seminar, scheduled for July 9–10, 2025, comes at a time when the global energy sector is undergoing major transformations due to growing calls for decarbonization, shifting market dynamics, and technological innovation.
Azerbaijan, though not an OPEC member, is a part of the OPEC+ alliance, which includes several non-OPEC oil-producing countries cooperating with the organisation to stabilise global oil markets. Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, has played a key role in representing Azerbaijan within this framework, contributing to discussions on production quotas, market stability, and the country’s role in the broader global energy architecture.
