Azerbaijan voices concern over US strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has expressed concern over the recent US airstrikes targeting nuclear facilities in Iran.
“We express deep concern over the further deterioration of situation following the military actions by the United States targeting nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry.
“We call on all parties involved to exercise restraint, refrain from further escalation, and prioritize dialogue and diplomacy to address existing problems,” the ministry added.
The US launched airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities on June 22 morning. US President Donald Trump stated that a full payload of bombs was dropped on Fordow, calling it the primary target of the operation. Satellite imagery has since revealed visible damage to the entrances of the Fordow facility and to the mountain under which the site is located.
