Azerbaijani Armed Forces mark Independence Day with nationwide events Photo / Video

A series of commemorative events have been held across the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in celebration of the country’s Independence Day, the Ministry of Defence has announced.

Acting on the instructions of Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the military organised a wide range of activities aimed at highlighting the significance of the national holiday, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Defence Ministry.

According to the Ministry, the programme included themed sessions on civic and political education, roundtable discussions, conferences, and various cultural and patriotic initiatives.

Soldiers also attended excursions, book exhibitions, photography and art displays, and screenings of both documentary and feature films.

In addition, members of the Armed Forces visited museums, historical sites, and the graves of fallen soldiers, known as ‘shehids’, as part of the commemorative efforts.
