Azerbaijani-Armenian peace deal to impact South Caucasus development - Speaker

There are still no results though Azerbaijan’s offer to Armenia to sign a peace deal, Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova has said.

Gafarova made these remarks at the third Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) Dialogue, entitled “Results of the 2023 Global SDG Summit and the role of Supreme Audit Institutions in the SGD implementation”, Report says.

“We think that the signing of the peace treaty will have an impact on the development of the entire South Caucasus. During 30 years of occupation of the Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, over one million mines were planted, which hinders the restoration of these lands and still leads to human casualties,” she added.
