Azerbaijani army outfitted with cutting-edge military equipment - defence chief
Reforms aimed at increasing the Azerbaijani Army's military potential are being implemented on President Ilham Aliyev's instruction after the Patriotic War in 2020.
Defence Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov made the statement at a conference on "The experience of the Patriotic War" organised by the Azerbaijani Security Council's Secretary Service, APA reports.
He informed about the creation of new military formations, raising the level of military education of Azerbaijani Armed Forces personnel, and supplying them with cutting-edge military equipment for the prompt and flexible performance of assigned tasks.
Meanwhile, Security Council Secretary Ramil Usubov said that the experience of the 2020 war is an important factor in ensuring reliable national security.
"The 44-day Patriotic War, which ended with our glorious victory under the decisive leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev, leaves an indelible mark in our history, this war plays an invaluable role in improving our army's combat experience. Planning and conducting military operations is studied at military institutions of foreign countries," APA quotes him as saying.
Usubov noted that the analysis of the results of the war and the experience gained are important factors in ensuring reliable national security in improving the defence capability of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
