“Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a meeting with the former President of the European Council, Charles Michel, during the latter’s visit to Azerbaijan for the XII Global Baku Forum," Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s message on X.
"During the discussions, both parties addressed a range of issues concerning regional and international security. The sides also focused on the post-conflict regional dynamics, particularly highlighting the recent development on a peace agreement, as well as the challenges currently facing the process. At the meeting, appreciation for Charles Michel’s significant efforts during his previous role as President of the European Council was expressed,” the message says.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confirmed on March 13 that negotiations on the draft Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia have concluded, with both sides agreeing on the text, marking a significant step in the peace process. Pashinyan, speaking to journalists, assured that while the full text has not been publicly released, key details have been shared transparently.
He mentioned that discussions on the timing and location for signing the agreement would soon begin. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has also expressed readiness to engage in further discussions, stressing that amendments to Armenia’s constitution and the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group are crucial conditions for the agreement's signing.
