Azerbaijani foreign ministry summons UK envoy over recent attack on embassy
Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the Republic of Azerbaijan has been summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
A sign of protest was expressed to the UK’s Chargé d'Affaires, who was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry in connection with the recent attack by a group of religious radicals on the Azerbaijani embassy in London, Caliber.Az reports referring to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
“The opposite side was informed that this provocation causes doubts about the issue of ensuring the security of the diplomatic mission, and the host country should take security measures in accordance with international legal obligations. Azerbaijan urged the opposite side to guarantee that such cases would not reoccur in the future,” the message said.
Azerbaijan urged the UK’s corresponding agencies to thoroughly investigate the recent act of vandalism and bring those responsible to justice.
The UK’s Chargé d'Affaires expressed deep disappointment and concern over the incident. He noted that an investigation is underway.
