Azerbaijani Ombudswoman’s reps visit Armenian saboteur

Members of the National Preventive Group have visited Armenian saboteur Gagik Voskanyan on behalf of Azerbaijani Ombudswoman Sabina Aliyeva.

Members of the National Preventive Group reviewed the conditions of detention of member of the reconnaissance and sabotage group of the Armenian Armed Forces, who illegally crossed the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border on August 16, 2023 to commit a terrorist provocation Gagik Voskanyan, the Ombudsman’s Office told Report.

They inquired about treatment, medical care and other issues that correspond to the mandate of the National Preventive Mechanism, as well as the level of ensuring the saboteur’s rights in accordance with international and national legislation. Voskanyan expressed satisfaction with the conditions of detention, treatment and medical care.

Voskanyan was confidentially informed about his rights, the powers of the Ombudswoman. The international acts related to human rights in the Armenian language was given to Voskanyan.
