Azerbaijani Parliament ratifies visa waiver agreement with North Macedonia
On June 21, the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan ratified an agreement with North Macedonia aimed at easing travel procedures for diplomats and officials by lifting mutual visa requirements.
The draft law on the ratification of the agreement was submitted during the extraordinary plenary session of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The agreement, titled “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia on the exemption of holders of diplomatic and service/official passports from visa requirements,” was signed in Baku on March 12, 2025.
Under the terms of the agreement, citizens of either country holding valid diplomatic or service/official passports will be able to enter, transit through, and stay in the territory of the other country without a visa for up to 90 days within a 180-day period from the date of each entry.
Following parliamentary discussions, the bill was put to a vote and approved in a single reading. The agreement is expected to enhance bilateral relations by facilitating easier official-level travel between the two countries.
