Azerbaijani SME Development Agency, BP launch cooperation PHOTO
The Small and Medium Business Development Agency of Azerbaijan and British energy giant BP signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The document was signed by Orkhan Mammadov, the agency’s board chairman, and Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, BP's vice president for communications and external relations in the Caspian region, Report informs.
At the event held in the Agency’s office in Baku on March 13, it was announced that, under the MoU, the parties will cooperate on projects aimed at supporting entrepreneurship.
The event also included information on two new projects to be implemented jointly with the support of the SME agency and BP.
One of the projects is said to be aimed at supporting the development of young entrepreneurs in rural areas and will be implemented in Samukh, Goranboy, and Shamkir regions. The project will select young people from low-income families who are interested in entrepreneurship, for which training will be provided.
Another project aims at supporting the development of agro-tourism in the Tovuz region. The project will create income and employment opportunities for low-income families in the district.
