Azerbaijani Sociological Research Centre: Ilham Aliyev receives 92.4% of votes
The Sociological Research Centre has conducted an exit poll in the snap presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
Caliber.Az correspondent attending the post-election conference shares the findings of the exit poll conducted by the centre.
The exit poll covered 25 electoral districts, with 125 polling stations selected randomly. A total of 5,016 voters participated in the survey. Of them, 24.0 per cent are residents of Baku, 7.9 per cent - are of other big cities of Azerbaijan (Ganja, Sumgait), 23.8 per cent - are of small towns and urban-type settlements, and 44.3 per cent - are residents of villages. 51.2 per cent of exit poll participants were women, 48.8 per cent were men. 35.6 per cent of respondents were aged 18-35, 38.9 per cent were aged 36-55, and 23.5 per cent were over 55.
According to the survey results, incumbent President Ilham Aliyev received 92.4 per cent of the votes, Zahid Oruj - 2.2 per cent, Fazil Mustafa – 2 per cent, Gudrat Hasanguliyev - 1.6 per cent, Elshad Musayev - 0.8 per cent, Razi Nurullayev - 0.6 per cent and Fuad Aliyev - 0.4 per cent.
The snap presidential elections were held in Azerbaijan on February 7. The Central Election Commission registered seven presidential candidates - Ilham Aliyev of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, self-nominated candidates Zahid Oruj and Fuad Aliyev, Razi Nurullayev of the National Front Party, Fazil Mustafa of the Great Order Party, Elshad Musayev of the Greater Azerbaijan Party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev of the Whole Azerbaijan Popular Front Party.
