Azerbaijani, Uzbek oil companies establish joint master's degree programme
The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz have agreed to establish a joint master's degree educational programme.
This agreement follows a visit by an Azerbaijani delegation, led by SOCAR Vice President Ziba Mustafayeva, to Uzbekistan, Caliber.Az report citing the local media.
"The purpose of the visit was to implement the memorandum on cooperation in personnel training signed between Uzbekneftegaz and SOCAR on July 18, 2023," stated a message from SOCAR.
During the visit, SOCAR’s delegation met with Uzbekneftegaz's management and HR representatives to discuss the exchange of expertise in personnel training, emphasising the memorandum's significance for bilateral cooperation.
The agreement involves a joint educational programme at the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology and the Baku Higher Oil School. Students will study for one year at each institution and receive diplomas from both.
The State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), is a fully state-owned national oil and gas company headquartered in Baku, Azerbaijan. The company produces oil and natural gas from onshore and offshore fields in the Azerbaijani segment of the Caspian Sea. It operates the country's only oil refinery, one gas processing plant and runs several oil and gas export pipelines throughout the country.
It owns fuel filling station networks under the SOCAR brand in Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania, Switzerland, Austria.
Uzbekneftegaz Company began its activities in 1992 as the only oil and gas company. It aims to maximize opportunities for a significant increase in hydrocarbon production, supplying them to the domestic market, production of high value-added products, oil and gas processing, export of technological products, export and marketing, create favourable conditions for attracting foreign direct investment in the gas industry.
