Baku court sentences two for high treason & cooperation with Armenian special services
The Baku Court for Serious Crimes has delivered its verdict against Rashad Ahmadov and Rovshan Amirov, who were found guilty of secretly collaborating with Armenian special services.
The session, presided over by Judge Javid Huseynov, concluded with Rashad Ahmadov receiving an 18-year prison sentence, while Rovshan Amirov was sentenced to 17 years, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Court documents reveal that Rashad Ahmadov engaged in clandestine cooperation with Armenian special services in exchange for material benefits, carrying out tasks that compromised the sovereignty and security of Azerbaijan. Together with Rovshan Amirov and others, Ahmadov produced videos that incited ethnic and religious hatred, which were then disseminated under the control of Armenian special services on YouTube and other social media platforms.
Ahmadov was convicted under several articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, including Article 274 (high treason), Article 28, 214.2.1 (terrorism committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, an organized group or a criminal association), Article 281.3 (public calls for the forcible seizure of power, forcible retention of power, or forcible change of the constitutional order or violation of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, committed on the instructions of foreign organizations or their representatives), and Article 283.1 (actions aimed at inciting ethnic, racial, social, or religious hatred and enmity). Rovshan Amirov was found guilty under Articles 274, 281.3, and 283.1.
