Baku sees creation of Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Europe energy corridor as one of its top priorities
Achieving a clean environment and "green growth" in Azerbaijan by 2030, developing Karabakh, East Zangezur and Nakhchivan as green energy zones, the strategy of becoming a supplier of green energy contributes to developing Azerbaijan-Türkiye energy cooperation in this new direction.
Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov made the statement at the Azerbaijan-Türkiye Investment Forum dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev and the Republic of Türkiye, APA reports.
"Cooperation with international energy companies on green energy projects is being carried out in Nakhchivan, with the main focus on exporting the produced energy to Türkiye. All this coincides with the provisions of the State Programme for the Development of Nakhchivan for the next four years, approved by the President of Azerbaijan, which envisages cooperating with Türkiye on issues such as increasing the production and exporting electricity based on green sources," the minister added.
Parviz Shahbazov also stressed that following the strategic goal of exporting more than 1000 MW of energy from Nakhchivan to Türkiye and Europe, the creation of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Europe energy corridor is one of the main priorities.
