bp: Oil production at ACE platform to start in early 2024

Oil production at the Azeri Central East (ACE) platform of the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) field in the Caspian Sea will begin in early 2024.

Nill Philips, head of external communications at bp, and general manager of the ACE project made the remarks on October 7, APA reports.

By the first quarter of next year, work on the support block will be completed, and the platform will be put out to sea. The ACE platform is expected to be operational by May. The drilling of wells and the start of production on the platform is scheduled for late 2023 - early 2024.

Philips added that ACE will be the first automated platform. All management work will be carried out remotely from the onshore Sangachal terminal on the outskirts of Baku.
