The 19th International Tourism Exhibition in Bulgaria featured the opening of a photo exhibition titled "Shusha - Historical and Cultural Pearl of Azerbaijan."
Organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Bulgaria with support from the Baku Media Center, the exhibition showcases captivating photographs of Shusha’s stunning landscapes, historical monuments, and vibrant architecture, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Bulgaria Huseyn Huseynov addressed attendees, highlighting Shusha's significance as a historical trade and economic hub in the Caucasus. He noted the city's important contributions to Eastern literature and art.
The ambassador also reflected on the liberation of Shusha from nearly three decades of occupation in 2020 and its subsequent designation as the cultural capital of Azerbaijan in 2021.
Under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership, Shusha has undergone restoration, transforming it into a treasured asset for both Azerbaijan and the entire Caucasus region.
The Azerbaijani Embassy also organized a national stand to promote the country's rich cultural and tourism potential. The exhibit featured stunning photographs highlighting Azerbaijan’s picturesque landscapes, ancient history, and unique traditions. Visitors could also explore national souvenirs and intricately designed carpets, while enjoying tastings of traditional Azerbaijani cuisine.
