Caspian Pipeline Consortium completes repairs on SPM-3 offshore mooring
On January 25, 2026, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium announced the completion of repairs to the offshore single-point mooring SPM-3.
Repair work has been completed at the CPC Marine Terminal on the CPC SPM-3 offshore single-point mooring. As part of the scheduled preventive maintenance, a partial replacement of subsea hoses and underwater loading arms was carried out, Caliber.Az reports per Kazakh media.
On January 21, hydrostatic testing of the SPM cargo system was conducted, after which divers opened the terminal manifold on the subsea oil pipeline. On January 25, a tanker was moored for crude oil transhipment, the CPC press service reported.
The timeframe and scope of the repair work were optimised following an attack by an unmanned boat on CPC SPM-2, which caused damage and led to its shutdown.
“In this regard, we emphasise that the fulfilment of crude oil shippers’ nominations in accordance with annual plans is guaranteed when at least two SPMs are operating simultaneously.”
The hose replacement work on SPM-3 was carried out under difficult hydrometeorological conditions. The safe descents of the diving team were repeatedly interrupted due to changing speeds of underwater currents, which is typical for this time of year, CPC said.
“Currently, crude oil shipments at the consortium’s Marine Terminal are proceeding as normal through CPC SPM-1 and CPC SPM-3,” the company concluded.
