Committee chair: Azerbaijan demonstrates equal rights for all religious, national groups
Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, has said that in Azerbaijan, everyone, regardless of their religious or national background, enjoys equal rights.
He made the remarks during a meeting in the United States organized by the Sterling Foundation at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Mammadov discussed the healthy religious environment and exemplary coexistence traditions in Azerbaijan, as well as the measures being taken under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership to protect tolerant and multicultural values.
He emphasized that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, led by First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, is implementing significant projects aimed at strengthening this unique atmosphere of tolerance in Azerbaijan.
The meeting was attended by government representatives, experts from research institutes, leaders of religious communities, and civil society organizations.
Participants expressed satisfaction with the care provided to representatives of all religious confessions in Azerbaijan, as well as the efforts made to promote interreligious and intercultural dialogue.
