Demand for nuclear bunkers in Russia soars amid Middle East tensions
Demand for nuclear bunkers in Russia has surged by 140 percent following heightened conflict in the Middle East, reflecting growing concerns among the country’s elite.
The Telegram channel Shot reported that Moscow’s top executives and major business figures make up the bulk of customers. Several government officials are also purchasing private shelters, though their identities remain confidential.
The owner of a bunker manufacturing company told journalists that since early March, orders for personal bomb shelters have been arriving almost daily, with the waiting list now extending into the summer. Basic “turnkey” models start at two million rubles and consist of a reinforced steel cylinder designed for two people, buried up to five meters underground and equipped with an air intake system.
For an additional fee, buyers can customize their shelters with amenities such as a kitchen, shower, sofa, and even a television with a gaming console.
