Erdoğan reaffirms Türkiye’s commitment to peace-oriented, independent foreign policy

In a firm reaffirmation of Türkiye’s diplomatic principles, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared that the country’s foreign policy remains steadfastly committed to peace, justice, and sovereign decision-making free from external influence.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Turkish Foreign Ministry building in Ankara, Erdoğan outlined a vision for Türkiye’s role in the global order—one rooted in moral authority rather than coercive power, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.

The address offered insight into Ankara’s evolving diplomatic posture amid regional and international challenges.

“Türkiye believes in a world where not the strong, but the rightful are powerful, and it is working toward making that world a reality,” Erdoğan said.

“We are resolutely fighting for the realization of this principle. Today, Türkiye possesses the strength to craft and pursue its own strategic path—both domestically and within the broader region—without yielding to the expectations or pressures of others.”

The Turkish leader emphasized that courtesy and diplomacy remain central to Ankara’s approach, yet he warned that Türkiye will not hesitate to respond firmly to provocation or destabilization efforts in the region.

“Our foreign policy is rooted in peace, and the language of our diplomacy is one of politeness,” Erdoğan said. “But this does not mean we will remain silent in the face of aggression or retreat in the presence of arrogance. Today, as in the future, we will stand firmly against those who seek to plunge our region into chaos and bloodshed.”
