Erdoğan, Trump discuss regional, global issues in phone call
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US President Donald Trump discussed regional and global issues during a phone call.
The two leaders exchanged views on the latest developments in Syria, the Gaza-focused Board of Peace, and other matters of mutual interest, including the defence industry, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish media.
Erdoğan said Ankara would continue taking steps to advance cooperation between Türkiye and the United States, stressing that elevating bilateral relations across all areas serves the shared interests of both countries.
During the conversation, Erdoğan emphasised that Türkiye attaches great importance to the full implementation of the ceasefire and integration agreement in Syria, noting that the process is being closely monitored in coordination with the US and Syrian authorities.
The Turkish leader also noted that he hopes the Board of Peace will undertake beneficial work, adding that he believes ending the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and rebuilding the territory will pave the way for lasting peace in the region.
