European Commissioner: Azerbaijan to stabilise EU’s gas market
European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson has said that Azerbaijan plays an important role in diversifying energy supplies to the EU by stabilising its gas market.
Simson made these remarks at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, according to Report.
“Since my first visit to Baku, energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU has greatly strengthened,” she said.
Simson emphasised that supplies of Azerbaijani gas to Europe will play an important role in the energy transition process.
“We need more dialogue and cooperation. We have agreed on many key issues today. Gas supplies will be increased by 2027 due to the collective ambitions in this region,” she added.
Simson added that renewable energy sources will help Europe achieve its energy goals.
