Ex-separatist leader questioned again in Armenia over war-time decisions
Samvel Shahramanyan, former leader of the separatist faction in Karabakh, has once again been summoned for questioning by the Armenian Investigative Committee.
Shahramanyan has reportedly appeared before the investigative authorities on six to seven occasions over the past month, underscoring the ongoing scrutiny surrounding his actions during the Karabakh conflict, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The investigation pertains to allegations of negligence committed amid the hostilities, as well as the surrender of weapons and ammunition to Azerbaijani armed forces. However, his attorney Roman Yeritsyan declined to disclose specific details of the case, emphasizing that no formal charges have been filed against Shahramanyan. He is currently being treated as a witness rather than a suspect.
This development follows earlier reports from late May indicating that Shahramanyan had already been subjected to interrogation in relation to the same matter.
