Former UK Prime Minister Theresa May has emphasized the urgent need for decisive action in the fight against climate change.

On her social media platform X, May highlighted her participation in the ongoing COP29 session in Baku, underscoring the critical importance of implementing effective measures to address global climate change, Caliber.Az reports.

In her post, May drew attention to the alarming trend that the average global temperature this year is likely to exceed the critical threshold of 1.5 degrees Celsius. She stressed that the time for action is now, calling for urgent and impactful steps to safeguard both the planet and its inhabitants.

“Last week I was at COP29 pushing for a step change in global climate action. As average temperatures are on course to exceed the 1.5 degree limit this year, it is vital that we act decisively today to protect our planet and our people,” the post by May reads.
