Georgia seeks strengthened environmental, agricultural cooperation with Azerbaijan
Georgia's Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, David Songulashvili, and Azerbaijani Ambassador to the country, Faig Guliyev, explored ways to deepen bilateral relations.
The discussion focused on expanding trade and economic cooperation, particularly in the areas of environmental protection and agriculture, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
"We are interested in cooperation in the fields of environmental protection and agriculture. I believe that together we can implement a number of projects of mutual interest," Songulashvili stated during the meeting.
The sides expressed optimism about the potential for collaboration, highlighting the shared commitment to sustainable development and the enhancement of agricultural practices.
Historic and friendly relations between our countries are the basis of effective and successful cooperation in agriculture and environment”, Songulashvili said.
Ambassador Guliyev congratulated Songulashvili on his recent appointment and highlighted the potential for collaboration, saying environmental protection and agriculture were" interesting areas of cooperation for us” and adding he expected “many mutually interesting projects" between the sides.
A Georgian delegation led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze visited Baku last week. The delegation included the Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili, Foreign Affairs Minister Maka Botchorishvili, Culture Minister Tinatin Rukhadze, and the Head of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
