Azerbaijan has risen eight places in the 2026 KidsRights Index, ranking 60th globally and ninth within its region, according to the latest edition of the international children's rights assessment.
The country received a score of 731 points in the index, which evaluates how well countries uphold the rights of children under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Caliber.Az reports.
The KidsRights Index is compiled annually by the Netherlands-based KidsRights Foundation in partnership with Erasmus University Rotterdam. It assesses all 194 states that are parties to the UN Convention, using indicators related to children's rights, including access to education, health, protection, and the enabling environment for child welfare.
Among neighbouring and regional countries, Georgia ranked 51st, Armenia 70th, Iran 86th, Turkey 106th, and Russia 151st.
