Georgian PM, Azerbaijan's parliament speaker talk over future of bilateral relations
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (parliament) Sahiba Gafarova have held discussions on the strategic partnership between the two countries and joint regional projects.
The meeting focused on economic cooperation, with both sides underscoring the positive outcomes of the 10th session of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which took place in January this year, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The officials also addressed efforts to facilitate the effective operation of the Middle Corridor, a key trade and transit route.
Emphasising the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus, Kobakhidze reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to contributing to the region’s security and prosperity.
To recall, a delegation from the Milli Majlis, led by Gafarova, is on an official visit to Georgia.
Diplomatic team was welcomed at Tbilisi’s Shota Rustaveli International Airport by the Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Nino Tsilosani, as well as the ambassadors of both countries, Zurab Pataradze and Faig Guliyev, alongside other officials.
