Georgian State Security Service assesses possible coup

Representative of the Georgian State Security Service Khvicha Begiashvili has said that the State Security Service continues considering a threat of a coup from radical forces to be real and continues working to neutralize it.

“Today, the threat is still real, and the State Security Service is working to neutralize it. Evidence of the investigation under part 1 of Article 232 of the Georgian Criminal Code (preparation of a terrorist attack) and part 1 of Article 315 of the Georgian Criminal Code (preparation for the coup by force),” he said in an interview with Rustavi 2 TV channel.

He admitted the possibility of bringing charges against Serbian and Georgian citizens.
