Georgian travellers visit Azerbaijan’s Aghdam to witness restoration efforts
A delegation of Georgian travellers has recently visited Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district, where they observed the destruction caused by Armenia during its years of occupation, as well as ongoing restoration and construction efforts.
During their visit, the travellers toured the restored Aghdam Mosque and the Alley of Martyrs. They were also shown historical photographs depicting the city before the occupation and its subsequent devastation.
Three groups of travellers from Georgia, totaling 30 individuals, are in Azerbaijan to explore the reconstruction efforts in the region and to learn about its historical landmarks.
A group of travellers from Georgia also took a tour of liberated Khankendi city. The guests observed the ongoing restoration efforts in the city. They visited the stadium, the Karabakh University, and various historical and cultural monuments. Three groups of travellers from Georgia arrived in Azerbaijan on October 17.
This group is exploring construction and restoration activities in the region, as well as its historical sites. The visit to the liberated territories is scheduled to conclude on October 22.
As a result of Azerbaijan’s anti-terror operation, which lasted less than 24 hours, the illegal Armenian military presence on Azerbaijani territory was fully disarmed and left the country. The unlawful junta regime in Karabakh was dismantled. The main leaders of the separatists were arrested due to the efforts of Azerbaijani special services and law enforcement agencies.
As a result of the anti-terror operations, Azerbaijan's state sovereignty and constitutional order were fully restored across the country. On October 15, 2023, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited the city of Khankendi, as well as the Khojavend, Shusha, Khojaly, and Aghdara districts. During his visit, he raised the Azerbaijani flag at the Asgaran Fortress. On November 8 of the same year, a military parade was held in Khankendi to mark the third anniversary of the Victory in the second Karabakh war.
