ICESCO chief hails Azerbaijan's leadership in promoting intercultural dialogue, peace
Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik, has lauded the efforts of Azerbaijan in fostering intercultural dialogue and advocating for global peace.
AlMalik expressed his gratitude during the closing ceremony of the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue held in Baku, Report informs.
In his remarks, AlMalik extended his appreciation to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for their support and dedication to advancing intercultural understanding. He emphasized the significant role of intercultural dialogue in fostering connections among societies since ancient times.
Highlighting the importance of promoting tolerance and values of coexistence, AlMalik urged the international community to take proactive measures in addressing such crucial issues. He emphasized ICESCO's commitment to leveraging science, education, and culture as pillars for fostering peace and harmony worldwide.
AlMalik commended President Ilham Aliyev's recent speech at the forum, where he addressed pertinent topics including hypocrisy, double standards, colonialism, and the importance of mutual trust. He emphasized the need for solidarity among nations, echoing President Aliyev's call for strengthening unity based on shared values and principles.
