Azerbaijani religious leader to attend OIC event in Iran
The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), Sheikh ul-Islam, Allahshukur Pashazade, has been invited to an international conference taking place in Iran.
The invitation was extended by Iran’s newly appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mojtaba Demirchilu, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The ambassador also provided details about the event, which will be held in Iran as part of the celebrations marking the 1,500th anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, organised under the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
During the meeting, the importance of strengthening historical and traditional ties between the states and peoples of Azerbaijan and Iran was emphasised, including in religious and spiritual spheres.
The discussion also highlighted the significance of fostering an atmosphere of peace and cooperation both regionally and globally, noting the need for joint efforts to promote friendship, good neighbourliness, and brotherhood.
