Industrial production gaining momentum in Nakhchivan
In 2022, more than 36 million manats ($21 million) were invested in the industrial sector of Nakhchivan.
As part of the Year of Industry, 16 projects have been completed, including the production of household and agricultural equipment, armchairs, ice cream, furniture, shoes, plastic doors and windows, and 101 new jobs were opened, APA reports, citing the data compiled by the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The Entrepreneurship Development Fund, subordinated to the Ministry of Economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, provided a soft loan in the amount of nearly 112,73 million manats ($66 million) to finance 288 projects for the production and processing of industrial products, of which about 5 million manats ($2.9 million) was allocated since the start of 2023.
The Sharur industrial quarter, one of the major industrial projects being implemented in the Autonomous Republic, has been operating in full swing. At present, there are 2 furniture production enterprises and 1 footwear production enterprise within the industrial complex.
Moreover, in Nakhchivan, a new enterprise for the production of salt, the Limited Liability Company "Nakhchivan Enterprise for the Production of Carpets and Yarn", and the Limited Liability Company "Ləzzət Qida Sənaye" for the production of napkins and vodka are currently being established.
