International Defence Industry Exhibition IDEF-2023 kicks off in Istanbul
The 16th International Defence Industry Exhibition IDEF-2023 will start in Istanbul today, July 25.
The exhibition, which is one of the world's largest platforms for the demonstration of military-industrial complex novelties, will be held from July 25 to 28 at the TÜYAP exhibition centre in Istanbul, Anadolu reports.
The exhibition is organised for the 16th time by the Turkish Ministry of National Defence under the patronage of the Presidential Administration.
IDEF is among the top four largest defence industry exhibitions in the world in terms of the number of exhibiting companies. In addition, IDEF stands out as the world's largest platform for negotiations between defence companies.
As in previous years, IDEF will showcase novelties of the domestic defence industry. The exhibition will also feature upgraded versions of previously developed products of the Turkish defence industry.
The exhibition will feature combat and tactical armoured personnel carriers, unmanned ground vehicles, guided missiles, military simulators, equipment for destroying explosive materials and other latest developments in the military-industrial complex.
In particular, the exhibition is traditionally expected to include talks with delegations invited by the Ministry of National Defence, Turkish Armed Forces General Staff, Defence Industries Directorate, Army Command, Navy Command, Air Force Command, Gendarmerie General Directorate, Police General Directorate and Coast Guard Directorate.
In addition, local and foreign companies hold various cooperation meetings.
The IDEF exhibition profiles are military equipment for land forces, the Navy, Air Force, defence technology, space technology, airborne systems, helicopters, ships, electronic equipment, security systems, transport and logistics equipment and systems.
