Iran holds series of talks with Russia, Oman, Egypt on regional conflicts
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has held a series of telephone talks with the foreign ministers of Egypt, Oman and Russia, discussing recent regional and international developments, as well as ongoing efforts to resolve conflicts.
During a call with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, Araghchi briefed him on negotiations between Iran and the United States regarding efforts to end the war, Caliber.Az reports, citing his Telegram channel.
He stressed Tehran’s commitment to regional peace and stability in cooperation with regional states, thanked Oman for what he described as its responsible and principled stance on regional developments, particularly regarding US and Israeli military actions against Iran.
The Omani foreign minister, in turn, welcomed Iran’s position on maintaining a ceasefire and engaging in diplomatic efforts, expressing hope for the swift restoration of peace and stability in the region.
In a separate call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, discussions focused on the consequences of US actions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, which Tehran says threaten regional and global security.
Both sides reaffirmed their intention to continue bilateral and multilateral consultations using diplomatic mechanisms to strengthen stability.
A phone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty also addressed what Iran described as provocative US actions in the region, including “ongoing provocative and illegal activities in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, as well as continued crimes by the Israeli regime in occupied Palestine and Lebanon.”
