Iran urges inclusive governance for Syria’s stability
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized the importance of an inclusive government in Syria as a foundation for peace and stability in the war-torn nation.
Speaking in a special interview, he outlined Iran's unwavering commitment to Syria's territorial integrity, unity, and progress, Caliber.Az reports.
“Iran remains committed to preserving Syria's territorial integrity, opposing foreign occupation, and ensuring unity and progress,” Araghchi stated. He underscored that long-term stability in Syria hinges on the formation of a government that represents all segments of society.
“Stability requires forming an inclusive government representing all Syrians, including Kurds, Alawites, and other communities,” he said, emphasizing that such a government must be established through the will of the Syrian people.
Araghchi highlighted ongoing consultations with regional nations to support Syria’s path toward peace. He also addressed the potential reopening of Iran’s embassy in Damascus, affirming Iran’s readiness, pending security assurances.
“We are ready once security guarantees are ensured, although formal recognition of Syria’s government will be evaluated in due course,” he explained.
