Iran warns US troops to bid families farewell if strike occurs
Ebrahim Azizi, head of Iran’s National Security Committee, warned that American soldiers should take the time to say farewell to their families if another attack on Iran is ordered by the US leadership.
Posting on his social media page, Azizi wrote that he hoped if the US, following the miscalculations of its “delusional” president, made a mistake, its soldiers in the region would have already had the chance to say goodbye to their families, Caliber.Az reports.

Tensions between Iran and the US have sharply increased after the United States carried out direct airstrikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities in June 2025, a move Tehran condemned as a major escalation and a violation of international law.
These strikes followed years of proxy clashes and deep mistrust over Iran’s nuclear ambitions and regional activities, significantly raising the risk of direct conflict.
Iranian leaders have repeatedly declared that any US military attack on Iranian territory would trigger retaliation against American interests across the Middle East, including military bases and shipping infrastructure, as part of what they describe as legitimate self-defence.
The current phase of brinkmanship is also shaped by internal unrest in Iran, where widespread protests and a harsh crackdown have further strained Tehran’s relations with Washington, with US officials warning Tehran against further repression and Iranian officials linking foreign pressure to domestic instability.
