Israel eliminates over 17,000 Palestinian militants in Gaza operation Imposes sanctions on tankers funding Hamas
Israeli forces have reported the elimination of over 17,000 Palestinian militants during their ongoing operation in the Gaza Strip.
According to Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) spokesperson Daniel Hagari, the military continues its extensive campaign in Gaza, focusing operations in areas such as Rafah, Khan Younis, and central Gaza, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Recent significant achievements include the destruction of around 50 underground structures in the Philadelphi Corridor, a region on Gaza's border with Egypt.
Hagari emphasized that the IDF's efforts are aimed at crippling the capabilities of the radical Palestinian group Hamas and preventing its recovery. The Israeli military remains committed to sustaining its offensive operations in Gaza.
In related developments, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has imposed sanctions on 18 oil tankers allegedly used by Iran's Quds Force to finance Hamas and Hezbollah.
National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing of Israel (NBCTF) announced that these tankers were instrumental in channeling funds to terrorist organizations. The sanctions are part of broader Israeli efforts to disrupt financing mechanisms linked to terrorism.
Additionally, the IDF has conducted air and land strikes on Hezbollah military positions in southern Lebanon.
Recent operations included air attacks on Hezbollah facilities in the village of Qila and artillery strikes on targets in Rmeich and Ramiyah.
