Israeli foreign minister condemns Iran’s attack on Azerbaijan
Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has condemned Iran’s attack on Azerbaijan, calling it unacceptable.
Sa’ar wrote about this on X, commenting on the outcome of a phone conversation with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
“Spoke with my friend, Azerbaijan's FM Jeyhun Bayramov. I condemned Iran’s overt and deliberate aggression against Azerbaijan. This aggression against Azerbaijan and against other countries in the region is completely unacceptable and once again proves that the Iranian regime is insane and unrestrained,” he wrote.
Sa’ar added that Israel is determined to continue its military operation in Iran “until its objectives are achieved.”
On March 5, drones launched from Iranian territory attacked sites in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. One drone struck the terminal building of Nakhchivan International Airport, while another fell near a school building in the village of Shakarabad. The airport attack resulted in four civilians being injured. Iran’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mojtaba Demirchilou, was summoned to the Foreign Ministry. Azerbaijan stated that it reserves the right to retaliate.
