Kazakh official urges expanding Azerbaijani trading houses in his country
Kazakh Deputy Trade and Integration Minister Kairat Torebayev has said that expanding the number of Azerbaijani trading houses in Kazakhstan is necessary.
He stressed that the trade house of Azerbaijan is already operating in Astana, and its representative office is also present in Aktau, Report informs.
"I would advise expanding the presence of the house in Almati, as it is Kazakhstan's business capital," he said.
According to Torebayev, the opening of the trading house is aimed at the development of bilateral trade, and Kazakhstan supports these measures.
"Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are important trading partners, we do not compete on a wide range of issues, but complement each other. However, in this regard, the volume of trade turnover is very small and does not correspond to the potential," the deputy minister noted.
Torebayev added that he participated in opening the Azerbaijan trading house in Kazakhstan.
"For me, it was a significant event. I am always happy about the steps our brothers are taking to bring our countries closer together in trade, culture and other aspects," he said.
According to the deputy minister, the trading house has great prospects, because the turnover is always associated with the awareness of the buyer.
"The vacuum that exists in Kazakhstan regarding knowledge about Azerbaijani business, which is developing dynamically, is a barrier that needs to be overcome," Torebayev said, adding that earlier he had met representatives of Azerbaijani companies and got acquainted with their developments in the field of petrochemistry, banking, etc.
Meanwhile, Executive Director of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) Zohrab Gadirov said at the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan business forum in Baku that the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan business forum, there are 150 companies with Kazakh capital operating in Azerbaijan.
"We hope that these companies will work successfully in Azerbaijan. The country has favourable conditions for foreign investment. The free economic Zone Alat" offers special opportunities and prospects for attracting foreign investment," he said.
In addition, the representative of AZPROMO noted that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is growing: "We are seeing this growth, especially in the non-oil sector. AZPROMO works closely in the direction of developing the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan, attracting foreign investment to the country. I would also like to open more trading houses in the regions of Kazakhstan. We will consider how successful this can be."
